Embark on a marvelous guided tour of some of Tuscan Medieval wonders.
Your first stop will be San Gimignano, Tuscany’s so-called “ Medieval Manhattan ” and Unesco World Heritage Site. The historic center has an impressive sky-line of stone towers built in the Middle Ages. Originally, the city had around 70 skyscrapers,14 of which remain today offering visitors a unique sight. This spectacular hill town also boasts one of the most exquisite white
wines of Italy: Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the first Italian wine to be assigned DOC appellation back in 1966.
Following this fabulous, informative visit, you will have lunch in the charming location of Monteriggioni Castle, a perfectly preserved medieval walled village, about 30 minutes away from San Gimignano.
After lunch, you will be chauffeured to Siena, one of Italy’s finest and most beautiful medieval cities. Here, your expert guide will show you the city’s most famous landmarks, from the magnificent gothic Duomo built in 1200 to the spectacular Piazza del Campo with its slender, distinctive Torre del Mangia, named after its first bell-ringer, Mangiaguadagni, ( ‘the spendthrift’).
